Product information in Business NXT is divided into a number of tables.
Processing method
The Processing method menu item in the Processing menu in the Product table has a large number of options that you can use to control how Business NXT processes each product or underlying structure products.

- Base data
  The tables in this section include base data that applies to products.
- Products
  Product information in Business NXT is divided into a number of tables.
  - Product
    The Product table contains one row for each goods or service.
  - Product processings
    The following processings are available from the Product table:
  - Product reports
    The following report is available for the Product table:
  - Delivery alternative
    This table is used when creating purchase estimates, purchase orders and generating orders.
  - Barcode
    This table contains one row for each barcode, including product number, unit and other fields.
  - Unit
    This table contains one row for each unit. You can enter descriptions of the various units in which you buy and sell products.
  - Product category
    This table contains one row for each product category and can be used to group products hierarchically.
  - Product description
    In the Product description table you can enter an alternative product description per language.
  - Alternative product
    In the Alternative product table, you enter which alternative products can replace a product if the original product is currently sold out or you have too few in stock.
  - Product customer
    This table is used to save the customer's own product number which will be suggested in the Trans. information 2 field on the Order line if you have selected Suggest customer product no. in the Order processing 2 field in the Company information table.
  - Structure
    The Structure table defines which sub products each structure product consists of.
  - Structure processings
    The following processing is available for the Structure table.
  - Search product
    When you search in the Product no. field, the search is made in both number and description fields.
  - Price calculation
    Price calculation is performed during order entry, generating price lists and printing product catalogues. Business NXT will always suggest the most favourable price and/or discount for the customer/supplier.
  - Processing method
    The Processing method menu item in the Processing menu in the Product table has a large number of options that you can use to control how Business NXT processes each product or underlying structure products.
    - Warehousing
      Under the Warehousing tab, you define rules for how a stock keeping product should be handled when it comes to reservation and picking.
    - Serial number

      Check the Structure head box if the product is to be handled as a structure head. The other settings related to structure head and structure lines will then be enabled.

      These settings determine what to include on the pick list.

  - VAT- and accounting information
    You divide the products into groups using the VAT and accounting group field in the Product table, while in the Associate table you can refer customers/suppliers to Account set cust./ Account set sup..
  - Import of product data
    Product data can be imported to Business NXT from Visma AutoInvoice as a product catalogue XML file.

  This section deals with the various tables, layouts and processes that affect the warehouse.

Processing method

The Processing method menu item in the Processing menu in the Product table has a large number of options that you can use to control how Business NXT processes each product or underlying structure products.

Each tab consists of a series of settings, such as Exempt from warehousing under the Warehouse tab. You do the setting for the selected product in the check boxes with column header called This product. The settings in the radio buttons relate to any structure lines that can be expanded from this row. The radio buttons are divided into three columns:

Setting	Description
(From the structure table)	The setting in the Structure table will be used for the structure lines.
Yes	The setting is activated for all Structure lines related to this product.
No	The setting is inactivated for all Structure lines.

The Processing method settings are presented in the Product table in the fields Proc. method 1 to Proc. method 8, Proc. method 1b to Proc. method 5b and Proc. method 1c to Proc. method 5c.

Proc. method 1 to Proc. method 8 store the selections you make in the first column when the check boxes are selected. Proc. method 1b to Proc. method 5b and Proc. method 1c to Proc. method 5c store the selections you make in the second column. Proc. method 1c to Proc. method 5c store the selections when the check boxes are activated and Proc. method 1c to Proc. method 5c store the selections when the check boxes are inactivated.

You find the same options and tabs under the Processing menu in order entry in the Order line table. In the order entry you can override the checks you have made for each product, but you cannot override the options that relate to structure products. These can only be edited from the Product table.
