Consignment costs

The Company information table contains four fields in which you can enter freight components and one for customs.

Consignment costs on purchase order

Freight 1-4 and customs

If you have selected Account debit/credit freight 1-4 and customs on purchase in the VAT and accounting processing field in the VAT- and accounting information table, the posting of freight and customs is done upon invoice receipt on the purchase order, and not as default on the sales order.

Cost price addition

The Cost price addition (dom.) field can be calculated in the order line in one of the following ways:

  • Retrieved from the product or delivery alternatives
  • Distributed from the order head

To make a distribution of cost price addition from the order head to the order lines based on Amount, Net weight, Gross weight, Volume or Quantity, you must specify this to the supplier in the Supplier options field, or in the order head in the Freight processing field.

Cost price and posting on receipt of invoice

  • Freight 1-4, customs and cost price addition, are suggested from the Delivery alternative or Product tables. You can enter the amount or %. Customs duty is calculated by freight.
  • Freight 1-4, customs and cost price addition, are included in the cost prices and on the shipments.
  • Freight 1-4, customs and cost price addition, are accumulated in the order head.

Cost price addition can be distributed from the order head and values imported from the delivery alternatives and products are then reset.

The posting uses accounts defined in the following fields in the VAT- and accounting information table:

  • Debit/Credit freight 1-4
  • Debit/Credit customs
  • Debit/Credit cost price addition
  • Expense difference
Note:
Freight, customs and cost price addition are not entered into the invoiced amount to the supplier. If the invoice is included in freight and other costs the amount must be added as separate order lines.

Consignment costs in sales order

Incoming consignment costs

If you haven't selected Account debit/credit freight 1-4 and customs on purchase in the VAT and accounting processing field in the VAT- and accounting information table, incoming consignment costs are transferred from shipments (or the transactions when specifying an invoice reference on crediting), and posted to the accounts for debit/credit freight 1-4 and debit/credit customs. This is deducted from the amounts posted as product cost.

Freight and customs in %

The calculation basis for Freight in % is always Price before discount (domestic), as the discount given by suppliers will not normally influence calculated freight costs. For customs it is the price after discount that is the basis.

Outgoing consignment costs

The amount is registered in the order head and it will be included in the order total. When invoice printouts are approved, the fields are reset so that the amounts always relate to the next invoicing.

The Company information table contains the Product no. freight 1 - Product no. freight 4 and Product no. customs fields. These fields relate to products for which Business NXT has to retrieve information when printing, calculating statistics and posting closing consignment costs.

Outgoing consignment costs are printed in their own lines in the printouts or are excluded from the printout and presented with the @ order macro.
