Partial finishing of orders

You can finish entire orders or part of orders.

If you want to finish the whole order (the rest of an order), position the cursor in the order head, and in the Processing menu, select Finish.

You can also finish part of an order, but only for orders with order type 1 - Normal order.

If you don't want to finish the whole order, this is what you do:

  • To finish an entire order line/reservation, select the line and select Finish in the Processing menu.
  • If you want to finish a part of an order line, so that some remains outstanding, enter the quantity to be finished in the Finish NOW field.
  • You can also perform finishing for one or more pick lists in the Pick list table.

When you select the Finish processing, this field is set equal to the invoiceable outstanding quantity unless a special function has been set in the order line. This value will be entered in the Finished field and deducted from the Quantity and Outstanding fields. When you have done this for all the relevant order lines, save the edits. Business NXT processes the finishing and makes reservations (unless a pick list has been printed which means that reservations have been made already).

If you want to remove remaining quantities after partial finishing, you can do as follows:

  1. Select Processing > Processing method for the specific order line.
  2. Under the Editing tab, select Delete rest when filling in "Finish NOW". This also prevents anything being left over after the finishing has been saved. This setting also allows you to finish a negative quantity, which reduces the total quantity. If you want to withdraw the quantity and keep it for a later interim delivery, you have to deselect Delete rest when filling in "Finish NOW", or the quantity will be reset to zero.
The Finished field in the order and reservation lines is updated. At the same time, the order status is changed and now shows that the order is finished and ready for invoice, packing slip and consignment note.
Note:
The Quantity field only shows the quantity outstanding - the quantity that has not been finished. When the whole order is finished, there is a 0 (zero) in the field. You must not change the value in this field, because a new value will then be added to the original order quantity. The Total quantity field displays the original order quantity, that is, the sum of the finished quantity and invoiceable outstanding quantity.
