Posting sales and purchases
When posting sales, Business NXT uses account references for:
-
Taxable sales
-
Non-taxable domestic sales
-
Sales to other EU countries
-
Exports to countries outside the EU
The same applies to discounts, additions and special taxes. The amounts posted to the sales accounts do not include special tax, freight or customs, and discounts are not deducted, since there are separate accounts for them. If you check Post addition for Order processing 2 in the Company information table, additions will be separated from the sale and posted separately.
The same product can be sold as both taxable and non-taxable, depending who is buying it. Which account to use is controlled by the Area field in the order head, suggested by the customer. If the product is not taxable and the associate is domestic, the account references for non-taxable sales are used regardless.
When posting purchases, Business NXT uses account references for:
-
Taxable purchases
-
Non-taxable domestic purchases
-
Purchases from other EU countries
-
Imports from countries outside the EU
Which account to use is controlled by the Area field in the order head, suggested by the supplier. If the product is not taxable and the associate is domestic, the account references for non-taxable purchases are used regardless.
