Troubleshooting and limitations

If you run into issues related to Master Data Management, you can find some recommendations for solutions and workarounds below.

Change of general ledger account number

A change in general ledger account in Business NXT (using the Change account no. processing in the General ledger account table) is currently reflected as a deletion of the existing general ledger account and an insert of a new general ledger account as far as Master Data Management is concerned.
Note:
This will however cause issues with integrations such as Visma Payroll that share data with Master Data Management, and where the account will no longer be linked with the previous one and its transactions.

Change of customer or supplier number

A merge of more than one existing customer or supplier number in Business NXT (using the Change Customer no./Supplier no. processing in the Associate table) to a new customer/supplier no is currently not recognized as a change as far as Master Data Management is concerned. It is treated as a deletion of all companies which are merged to the new number.

If you change only one customer or supplier number by the time to a new customer/supplier no then Master Data Management will not consider it as a deletion; instead it will update the connected records accordingly.

Note:
To use these processings with common tables, the user needs access to all the companies defined in the common table.
