Master Data Management

Master Data Management (MDM) is a concept in Visma for sharing common data across multiple applications. Master data is information which is key for running a business.

The records for each master data type are stored in a database. One application is usually owner of a master data type and one to many other applications are able to use the information from the master data database in their processes. Master data is not transactional by nature.

You find Master Data Management under its own tab in Visma.net. The actual integration of the data between the systems is done by small components and services, which are bundled with the different Visma applications.
