Master Data Management and Common table
The Common table can be used to reuse company information between different tables.
To update data in common tables, the user needs access to all the companies defined in the common table in relation with the company they do the update in.
Common table setup
The Common table can be set so that secondary companies (Company no.) can use one or more tables (Table no.) from another company called the primary (Use company no.).
The respective tables in the secondary companies will be emptied, to instead use a view with data from the primary company.
When using the Common table setup in Business NXT, in order to be able to synchronise data to Master Data Management for the primary and for the secondary companies, it is recommended to configure the Common table setup before enabling the Master Data Management integration for the primary company, so it will acknowledge the existence of the secondary companies.
If the Common table setup is configured while the Master Data Management integration is active, a master restore has to be performed for the companies using Common table.
Using Master Data Management in combination with Common table
When enabling Master Data Management for companies with common tables, the company which is considered the primary for a certain table has to have Master Data Management enabled in order to use Master Data Management for the secondary companies (the ones using the content from the primary company).
Synchronisation for companies using common tables
Updates (synchronisation) for the primary company are done automatically. Then the SyncEngine service informs the secondary company about pending synchronisation.
