E-mail system configuration

This table is used to set up sending bulk email via SMTP.

The following fields exist in this table:

Bcc

The blind carbon copy.

The e-mail will also be sent to the e-mail addresses in this field, but they will be invisible to other recipients.

Multiple e-mail addresses can be added, divided by a semicolon (";").

Note:

If you press + in this field, the next available number is suggested. Gaps in the number series resulting from any deleted rows are not suggested. If you enter an existing number you will receive an error message. The number cannot be changed once it is entered.

E-mail configuration processing

The processings rules for the e-mail configuration.

A look-up opens the dialog box where you can see the following check boxes and options:

Secure socket options

None: No SSL or TLS encryption should be used.
Auto: Allow the e-mail server to decide which SSL or TLS options to use. If the server does not support SSL or TLS, then the connection will continue without any encryption.
TLS / SSL on Connect: The connection should use SSL or TLS encryption immediately.
Start TLS: Elevates the connection to use TLS encryption immediately after reading the greeting and capabilities of the server. If the server does not support the STARTTLS extension, then the connection will fail.
Start TLS when available: Elevates the connection to use TLS encryption immediately after reading the greeting and capabilities of the server. If the server does not support the STARTTLS extension, then the connection will behave as Auto.

Authentication method

Basic authentication
Microsoft OAuth2.0: When you select Microsoft OAuth2.0 as Authentication method, you must also run the Configure OAuth2.0 processing in order to set the remaining configuration values. The default SMTP port number is 587.
Note:
None is not a valid value for the Secure socket options.

The From e-mail address.

Replies on e-mails will be sent to this address.

Note:

If the logged in user has Use 'From' e-mail address from user selected under User pref., and this user also exists on a row in the Associate table in the User name field, the e-mail address from this associate will be used.
