Price calculation
Price calculation is performed during order entry, generating price lists and printing product catalogues. Business NXT will always suggest the most favourable price and/or discount for the customer/supplier.
Business NXT will start by investigating the rows in the Price- and discount matrix table that contain the relevant product number. From these, Business NXT will select the most favourable option from the rows that meet the other criteria in the row. A criterion is satisfied when the field either has the same value as in the order line/in the order head, or is not completed in the matrix. This does not apply if you have checked any of the options in the Fixed prices/discounts column in the Price- and discount matrix table.
If you in addition have entered a number of rows in the Price- and discount matrix table without a product number, for example to specify discount rates for special groups of customers, products or orders, you need to define which of these fields in the Price- and discount matrix table should be used in the different scenarios. You define this in the criteria entered in the Price/discount processing in the Company information table. However, all the criteria in the row must be satisfied in order for it to be possible for the price/discount to be assessed.
A new lookup is done when criteria on the order line are changed, assumed that Product no. and Quantity are filled out. To reduce the number of lookups, it is favourable to fill out the quantity after the other criteria on the order line are changed.
In Business NXT, you have several alternative ways of calculating the sales price.
You can enter the sales price directly against each product, or you can calculate it on the basis of specific criteria. The Price- and discount matrix contains seven fields for sales prices and six fields for quantities. These fields can be used to create a tiered pricing model or, when Split order line is checked in Price- and discount matrix, splitting up the order line into multiple lines, each with a different sales price.
You can calculate the sales price on the basis of other prices like purchase price, cost price or suggested price.

You can also calculate the sales price for specific orders and/or customers on the basis of the purchase price plus a percentage addition. To achieve this you must make modifications in the field Price from supplier no. and in the field Sales price addition % in the Associate table.
