Learn the very first things about Business NXT, for example how to sign in, search in tables and modify data.
- Signing in to Business NXT
  Business NXT is a web based application. You need a username and a password in order to sign in.
- Searching in tables
  When you search in tables, you can search directly for numeric values or text such as product numbers or company names, or look up values in related tables.
- Modifying data
  You can add new data in Business NXT, and change the data that has already been entered.
  - Adding new rows
    Click + New record to add a new row to a table.
  - Inserting new rows
    You can insert new rows before or after the active row.
  - Adding data in fields
    When you start entering data in fields, the row is locked to prevent other users updating it at the same time. If the row has already been locked or deleted by another user, a message is displayed.
  - Looking up a value in another table
    If a field refers to another table, you can perform a lookup in that table.
  - Looking up a value
    You can look up a value from a predefined list, for example the Trade area field in the Associate table.
  - Deleting rows
    You can delete an entire row (record) instead of just a value in a field.
- Task overview
  The Task overview helps to alert you of recurring tasks that need to be taken care of, for example if there are invoices that are overdue or if stock balances are below a predefined level.
- Automating tasks
  You can automate tasks to be performed at regular intervals.
- Layouts
  In Business NXT, you find many default layouts that fulfil the most common requirements, and you can also add your own layouts, folders and categories.

  The online help is here to help you understand the functions available in Business NXT.

Looking up a value

You can look up a value from a predefined list, for example the Trade area field in the Associate table.

Move the cursor to the column you want to complete.
Press * or double-click in the field. A list of predefined values appears.
Highlight the value you want to use.
Press Ctrl + Enter or double-click on the row.

The chosen value is copied to the column.
