Adding a time limit to an organisational unit

The organisational units can use the financial accounting year as defined in the Accounting period table, or you can specify time limits with start and end dates for each individual organisational unit.

When a time limit applies to an organisational unit, you can choose to carry over the result to the next financial year instead of resetting it like profit and loss balances usually do. Departments typically align with the financial year, while project or object organisational units may operate on different time frames and are monitored across various periods. Additionally, you can update a project's status to reflect its progress, whether it's active or inactive, and if needed, halt further postings for the unit.
