Generating balance

The Balances tables for customers, suppliers, capital assets, the general ledger and any organisational units are updated for every single voucher update.

As you can post and update vouchers for the next accounting year before reaching the end of the current year, Visma Business amust update all balances from the current value date to the most recently updated period.

If this period extends beyond the start of the new accounting year, Visma Business must reset PL accounts for the first period, and continue to accumulate balance sheet accounts into the new year. Visma Business must also simultaneously check whether any of the vouchers are being posted to organisational units for which accumulated result is enabled, and Visma Business carries the balance forward to the new financial year, even for PL accounts.

The currency amount of a transaction is only accumulated in the Balances table if it is the same currency as (currently) defined for the general ledger account, customer or supplier.

The Total turnover/purchases field in the Balance tables for customer and suppliers is updated in respect of all vouchers posted using a voucher type with Affects turn./purch. enabled.
