Encrypted database connection

This section describes how to enable encryption for database connections.

The network communication between SQL Server and client applications can be secured by using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) / Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt data. The encryption is performed in the protocol layer.

The trust can be established if the server can identify itself in a trustworthy way.

Merk: For security reasons it is recommended to disable TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols in the Operating System.
