Setting up Internet Information Services (IIS) for Visma Business links

This is normally done automatically during setup. Follow the steps only if setting up Internet Information Services (IIS) failed during the setup.

Visma Business links require that HTTP URLs are redirected to vismabusiness protocol. This is done by a small application in Internet Information Services (IIS) in Microsoft Windows. Follow the steps to set it up.

Prosedyre

  1. Make sure that Internet Information Services (IIS) is enabled in the application server, where Visma Business is installed. If not, turn on the feature in Microsoft Windows.
    If Visma Reporting Web Client is installed, Internet Information Services (IIS) should already be enabled.
  2. Start Windows Command prompt in Administration mode.
  3. To register link conversion application, execute command: %windir%\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe add app /site.name:"Default Web Site" /path:/VismaBusiness /physicalpath:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Visma\Business\LinkHandler"
    Note that you might need to edit the physicalpath parameter to reflect the actual location of Visma Business application files.1
  4. If necessary, give access to ..\Business\LinkHandler folder for Internet Information Services (IIS) user group IIS_IUSRS. If access is missing, IIS will display error 0x80070005.
  5. The server path for the IIS is set in the vbus.exe.config file in Visma Business installation folder. Parameter is under key appSettings/LinkConversionServer. This is used when creating links inside Visma Business. Default is the computer name with domain where Visma Business produktlinje installation was performed.
