Operations which you want to perform within a database transaction so that you do not risk partially updated data in the event of an abnormal operating interruption.
Visma Business will perform these operations with several small transactions, for example around each voucher line, so that data is locked for the shortest possible period of time. The problem with having large transactions is that they can produce disproportionate delays in multi-user systems unless the activities are co-ordinated so that they are performed at different times. Checks are therefore normally recommended only if there is one user or not many concurrent users or if, for example, batch updating can be started at the end of the working day.
If the transaction fails, the status bar will display 0 rows approved and a dialog box will appear to inform you that the transaction was not performed on account of deadlock or another database error. An attempt is made to cancel locks, and voucher and document series are reset if possible (i.e. unless other concurrent users have retrieved data from them in the meantime; see the section on voucher and document series).
